We implemented the business logic in a rich domain model. We used JPA / Hibernate for the persistence. The communication protocol between the front-end and the back-end was RMI over HTTP. We implemented the business logic in a rich domain model. We used JPA / Hibernate for the persistence. The communication protocol between the front-end and the back-end was RMI over HTTP. One of the challenges of this project was the flexibility required from a functional point of view: tailor-made for the needs of one specific customer, the tool was, after three years, used by four different customers.
